Numerous students are involved in and bring the associations to life. It is an opportunity for them to undertake projects, meet challenges, work in a team, take part in the life of the school, do what they enjoy…
Sport, culture, leisure and relaxation, humanitarian action, introduction to work - all students will find extra curricular activities to suit them.
The school encourages its students to become involved in these activities which contribute to their personal and professional development and are a concrete learning experience for the profession of engineer.
You want to sing? Dance? Get your brain working? Cook? You will find what you are looking for among the thirty or so associations presented below! What’s more it isn’t an exhaustive list and it may change from year to year: students may decide to set up a club, project or organise a theme event.
The BDE is the association of the associations. It negotiates the budget and the subsidies that the school allocates to the various associations and its main role is to act as a link between the school’s administration and the students.
The BDE is responsible for promoting the school’s associations and for organising some of the main internal events held during the year: evening events, the “integration” and “disintegration” weeks, the skiing week etc.
But it is also a special partner to the schools communication department in promoting the CPE Lyon: open days, student fairs …

The mission of the association, made up of year 5 students, is relatively demanding in particular because of the very tight deadlines. It has just two and a half months to organise CPE Lyon’s annual enterprise forum, which has been going for 15 years and which now welcomes over 70 enterprises.
The team is constituted at the end of September for an event that takes place at the beginning of December.
Next "Journée Entreprises" Open Day: 08 December 2011.

CPE Lyon organises and promotes an annual regional competition to create real businesses, aimed at young people wanting to set up business in the Rhône-Alpes region. This competition is organised in collaboration with the company TOTAL.
The aim of this association is to introduce school children in the first year of secondary school and those still at primary school to chemistry.
“Chimistes en Herbe” organises simple and fun practical work. 3 or 4 students in years 3 and 4 supervise ½ a class of about 15 children, conducting practical experiments based on everyday products.
This association works in secondary schools in association with the “Maison de la Chimie Rhône-Alpes”. It raises the pupils’ awareness of chemistry by tackling themes that are related to everyday life and the environment...
The students also take part in the operation called "La main à la pâte", arranging educational modules in scientific projects.

Every year the association Galiléo participates in the French robotics cup (“Coupe de France de Robotique”), better known under than name of “Coupe E=M6”, which is entered by 2000 students from all the French schools of engineering and universities!
Galiléo students are charged with designing an entirely autonomous robot, both in terms of commands and energy, which has to meet the specifications and undertake particular actions, such as dispatching balls into a basket ball net for example.
The association is split into 4 groups: communication, mechanics, electronics and informatics.
The Gala team has the difficult but prestigious task of organising the gala that follows the graduation ceremony.
It is an important moment in the life of the school and traditionally 1000 people go: CPE Lyon students and their families, as well as lecturers, former students or students from other schools and universities for a nightlong celebration with spectacles and entertainment.
Every year around 60 students put enormous amounts of energy in to organising a large scale cultural event: the arts week
For ten days it provides the opportunity for all students to express their artistic talents in the theatre, dance, singing, music, photography, plastic arts and even cooking.
TIC stands for Tournoi Inter Chimie. It is an acronym that is full of meaning for pupils in the chemical schools of engineering in France (around 20 schools) as it is synonymous with a festive sporting event that has been held since 1974.
It is the second largest student sports event in France. Every year more than 3000 students are involved in the sports competitions, a big procession, a cheer leader competition… The association Sympa’TIC is managed by a committee that comes under the BDE.
This association collects funds for the “Téléthon” by running and cycling.
It is in the school’s chaplaincy and provides a place for meeting, sharing and reflection for students whether or not they are believers.
