Funding your studies

How to finance your studies

Socrates students receive an Erasmus grant from their home institution.

The school has a Junior-Enterprise called “SYNERGIE”. Its role is to establish contacts between students and business to allow students to work on varied projects or research.

Franco-German grant
Students wanting to obtain the German double diploma with our partner university in Germany (University of Würzburg) can benefit from a grant from the Franco-German University – around 250 euros per month.

For International Students carrying out 3 years of study for the CPE Lyon diploma:

You have the possibility of carrying out an industrial placement abroad, or your final year of studies abroad.

This can be financed the following way:

Teaching Assistantship in America

Foreign students (not available to exchange students) wanting to obtain a MASTER degree or a PhD in the States, can be paid as Teaching Assistant or by the host lab. American teaching fees are paid by the Assistantship and the student will be paid around 1 500 dollars per month.

Rhône-Alpes Region Grant

The Rhône-Alpes Region help its students (including foreign students having studied at least one year in the Region) by giving a grant of around 380 euros to spend from 1 to 9 months of their curriculum outside France.

Vulcanus grant

Students can apply for a VULCANUS grant to spend one year in Japan (language and internship in industry) – This grant is around 15 000 euros for the year.

Internship

Students wanting to spend a year in industry (either in France or abroad) are usually paid an indemnity or a salary.
For internship abroad, if the salary is very low, students may apply for a grant from the Region.
