This ranking focuses on engineering schools research potential.

It is based on three criteria :

The turnover generated by research contracts in 2011

CPE Lyon rewarded with a new European Label : Diploma Supplement

CPE Lyon is the first French engineering school to receive the label "Diploma Supplement", for its exemplary application of the European norms. In total, 55 institutions in Europe have the right to use the Diploma Supplement label. The Diploma supplement consists of a document attached to the diploma which describes the university courses completed by the graduate and their competences acquired during all their studies.

This is the third European label for CPE Lyon for the school has already been rewarded with :

The "Euromaster label" that recognizes the quality of higher education in chemistry, according to European standards.

The E-Quality label which was awarded to CPE Lyon by the “Agency Europe – Education – Formation France”, in recognition of the work of the International team for the ERASMUS student mobility programme.

CPE Lyon : partner of an INSA Lyon International Master

INSA Lyon and CPE Lyon now deliver the International Master in Embedded Systems and medical Image engineering (IMESI) jointly.

This one-year M1 programme is specially designed for you international students : courses are in English, the programme includes courses of French as a foreign language, you will have opportunities to discover French culture.

IMESI programme allows you to access a French Master of Science degree (M2) in several fields :

Embedded systems

Automatic control

Electronic devices and integrated systems

Signal and image processing

Come and join one of the annual summer schools proposed by CPE Lyon !

Current programmes

> International Summer School in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

Organised by CPE Lyon from June 11th to July 13th 2012.

The CPE Lyon part of the IPL International Summer School includes a 5-week programme of practical classes in chemistry and/or chemical engineering (40 hours) in addition to taking the French language classes (36 hours) and the industrial and cultural visits.
The practical classes are designed to allow students from the United States and Canada to transfer credits for the study to their home university. The practical work programme is flexible. Experiments are offered in Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. Some experiments will be open-ended allowing students to go deeper into the particular aspect of the subject concerned. A programme oriented towards chemistry students and a programme oriented towards chemical engineering students is provided. All students will have free access to the Internet. Accommodation is provided for the five weeks of the Summer School.

The total cost to students is 1700 Euros. This covers all tuition costs, the costs of the industrial and cultural visits, and accommodation for the five weeks in a residence hall. The cost of meals and local transport is not included (but students will have access to the dining halls with meal plans).

This is a tremendous opportunity to gain an international experience, to improve your scientific knowledge and practical skills, and to learn the French language. Only a very basic prior knowledge of French is necessary. The practical classes will be given in English when necessary, and, for the language study, students will be divided into groups depending on their ability. A class for beginners will be available. The laboratory experiments offered are given on the following pages. Any students interested in this course are invited to contact Maria-Angelina Beaucourt (maria-angelina.beaucourt@cpe.fr) if further information is required.

Applications should be made using the IPL International Summer School form which is found on the website : http://www.ipl.fr/summerschool/

The content of this course for each individual student will be adapted to their particular requirements (requirements of their home institution, their previous experience, or their own wishes). This can be negotiated on an individual basis after the application has been received.

Please respect the deadline (15 March) for applications if possible.

Later applications will be considered but a place cannot be guaranteed.

Yes, you've got there!

Whether you come from special preparatory classes or from a university technology course, or from a university, whether you're a born chemist or a budding electronics engineer through and through, we're very pleased to welcome you in Year 3 at CPE Lyon for this coming academic year.

Next D-Day is Tuesday 12th September 2011 at 8.30. We will be waiting for you!

Programme:

On 12th September, everyone, - the administrative staff, the Students' Union staff and of course, even our own national brass band! - will be here to welcome you as from the start of the morning!

A welcoming breakfast (offered by the Students' Union) awaits you between 8.30 and 10.00. At 10 o'clock, in the large amphitheatre, Gérard PIGNAULT, the Director of CPE Lyon, will address and welcome you.

After that, what with the administrative procedures, the first contacts with your fellow 'refreshers', and contacts with the 'older' students, it looks like yuor timetable will be quite busy!

The Students'Union Committee has prepared an unforgettable integration programme just for you!

The 2009 Students' 'Trendency' barometer: CPE Lyon students' level of satisfaction in relation to their studies
Here is an extract taken from the findings of an international survey '2009 Students' Barometer', carried out in France by the Trendency Institute last February on a sampling of 12 648 engineering students in 88 schools. 220 CPE Lyon students took part in this survey which shows student level of satisfaction with regard to their expectations.
